THE DURBAN RIDE

The best way to see the coast has two wheels.

For one Sunday morning, the M4 Ruth First Highway becomes Durban's biggest cycle lane. Ride from the Moses Mabhida Stadium area towards uMhlanga Rocks with the freedom of a fully closed road and the ocean beside you.

Choose the distance that suits you, join from an advertised on-ramp and enjoy water points, medical support and hospitality along the route. A wristband is required for access.

01

Completely car-free

North- and southbound M4 carriageways close to vehicles for a safer, more relaxed ride.

02

Ride your way

Take on the full coastal route or turn earlier. It is a community ride, not a race.

03

Bring the family

The flat route welcomes beginners, experienced riders and families. Children must follow organiser rules.

04

Durban at its best

Sunrise, sea air and a motorway without traffic—an experience you cannot get on an ordinary Sunday.
