Ordering a New Bike Online

Every new bicycle ordered online from Biket is professionally prepared in our workshop before collection or insured nationwide delivery. The information below explains the full process and what you need to do.

What happens after you order

  1. Your order is booked into our workshop

Once we receive the order, the bicycle is scheduled for assembly, inspection and preparation. Our workshop system may send automated emails while the bicycle is with us.

  2. We confirm the rider information

A team member will contact you to check the selected size and ask for details such as your height and weight. Accurate information helps us guide sizing and establish a basic suspension setup.

  3. The bicycle is prepared

Our workshop assembles and checks the bicycle, adjusts the controls and prepares it for collection or transport.

  4. Collection or delivery is arranged

Once the required information and workshop preparation are complete, we arrange the next step with you.

Remote sizing is a guide—not a complete bike fit

We cannot accurately set final saddle height, saddle angle, stem height or every riding-position detail without you physically present. A local professional bike fit remains the best way to complete those adjustments.

Buying remotely

Where possible, we recommend visiting a local store and purchasing through them for the best fitment and immediate support during the first few rides. If you purchase remotely from Biket, the delivered bicycle requires final assembly by a qualified bicycle shop.

The bicycle normally arrives with the front wheel, handlebar and pedals removed. We do not provide home-assembly instructions because the final setup should be completed by a qualified mechanic. Incorrect handlebar installation, stripped bolts, cross-threaded fasteners or pedals installed on the wrong side are not manufacturing warranties.

We have Trek partners who may be able to assist in Johannesburg and central Cape Town. If you would prefer this option, contact us before purchasing so we can confirm the available arrangement.

Delivery, insurance and damage

  • The bicycle is insured while in transit until you sign for delivery
  • Once delivery is signed for, transit cover for damage or theft ends
  • Inspect the packaging before signing wherever possible
  • Photograph visible damage to the box or bicycle
  • Notify Biket immediately so the necessary claim can be logged
  • Keep the packaging until the bicycle has been checked

Warranty and first service

Damage caused by incorrect assembly—including stripped bolts, cross-threaded bolts or cross-threaded pedals—is not covered as a product warranty. Final assembly by a local Trek retailer or qualified bicycle shop protects both the bicycle and the rider.

Biket’s complimentary 30-day first service is available at our Hillcrest workshop only. It cannot be transferred to another store.
